About the Author- Corrie Ten Boom
Born on April 15th, 1892, Corrie lived an 'interesting' life. She was the youngest of four children. Her family ran a watch shop in her home that had been started by her great grandfather. He passed it down to her father, and then when her father didn't want to run it anymore, it became Corrie's responsibility. In February 1944, Corrie and her family were taken to the Ravensbruck concentration camp in Germany, where her sister Betsy took her final breath. They stayed there until December that year when they were finally free. After the release, Corrie started a rehabilitation center in the Netherlands where she helped concentration camp survivors get back on track. Corrie wasn't actually suppose to be released, it was a mistake. One week after she was released, all of the women her age where sent to the gas chambers. Since then She traveled giving public speeches about her experiences, and wrote some books during that time - one of which is The Hiding Place. Corries most famous novel, The Hiding Place, was published in 1971 and was followed by a movie. Sadly, Corrie Ten Boom is no longer here anymore. She passed away on her 91st birthday in 1983.
